gravatar image removal

Gravatar is a service for providing globally unique avatars and was created by Tom Preston-Werner. Since 2007, it has been owned by Automattic, having integrated it into their WordPress.com blogging platform. Once you have created an account on gravatar.com and added a profile image and description, the profile image is made public and follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog.

I realised that some people who have added their images to Gravatar before knowing that it will be displayed on any blog they post or comment, are currently looking for a way to remove it. So if you are among those people and want to remove your picture or image, then follow the easy steps below;

  • Visit https://en.gravatar.com and login.
  • Click on My Profile located at the top part of the user page.

  • On the Photo Gallery page, locate and click on edit your Gravatars.

  • Finally click Ok to confirm your action so that the image attached to the email address you are using will be deleted.

By doing the above, you will notice that your image has been removed from the blogs you posted or commented on. Note that your posts and comments will still be intact.
