How to Add a PDF Convert Button to Blogger, WordPress and Webpage

Have you ever considered adding a button to your website which users and visitors to the site can make use of if they wish to save the webpage for future use and reference? I know you might be wondering now “of what use is a button when I can simply just Ctrl + S the whole page for referencing when I want?” Well the buttons I have in mind are buttons like the print put button which gives you direct option of printing out the entire page as if it were a normal document file, and a PDF convert button which when clicked on automatically converts the whole webpage into a PDF file that can be redistributed and viewed offline for referencing or any other purpose as dim fit for the user.

Gone are the days when people use to write out information from webpages for later use. Now you can print this information directly from their source webpages without having to highlight (Ctrl + A) the entire page, then Ctrl + P, to print the highlighted page. All a visitor has to do is click on the printer button in the page which you as the website’s owner has added and viola, the print dialog box will come up. If you haven’t yet added this feature to your website or blog and wish to do so, simple check out the article How to Add a Print Button to Blogger, WordPress and Webpages.

Today I will be showing you guys how to add a PDF convert button to your websites. This is somehow different from the print button because what is achieved when a user decides to click on the PDF convert button is that he/she gets a soft copy version of the webpage which can be viewed anywhere on computers and mobile devices that can display PDF files. To be able to add this button to your website, all you need to do copy the code (courtesy of Web2PDFConvert) I will providing below and paste anywhere in the webpage where you want to the button to appear.

Adding PDF Convert Button to Blogger and WordPress

Adding this awesome button to any Blogger or WordPress site depends solely on whether you want it to appear on specific posts or on every single page. To add it to a specific post, all you need to do is copy the code snippet below and paste anywhere on the post where you will like it to appear. Remember that you will have to switch to HTML Editor for Blogger or Text Editor for WordPress before you can add it.

Adding a PDF Convert Button to a Webpage:

The code is provided by Web2PDFConvert and will display a PDF convert button on your webpage that will automatically convert the page into a PDF format which can be viewed on any mobile device that can display PDF files and computer.

Copy the code snippet below and paste anywhere on your webpage. Remember that adding these codes on your webpage has to be done when the webpage is in its HTML form (i.e. you will need to open it with a HTML editor).

<!-- Web2PDF Converter Button BEGIN --> <script type="text/javascript"> var pdfbuttonlabel="SAVE PAGE AS PDF" </script> <script src="http://www.web2pdfconvert.com/pdfbutton2.js" id="Web2PDF" type="text/javascript"></script> <!-- Web2PDF Converter Button END -->

The only thing you will be able to change is the text highlighted in RED in the code snippet. Change it to whatever you want appearing next to PDF icon. By default, what will be seeing on your webpage when you decide to use the code on your webpage without changing the code in RED is button which has “SAVE PAGE AS PDF” appearing after the PDF icon.

  2. […] If you have been visiting Educative Helper, you must have noticed sometimes in the past that text copying was disabled thus making it impossible for visitors to copy text from the pages EXCEPT in situations where users have to copy a code to use on their own site. These option is not good for sites that offer information which are expected to be copied but if you feel you need to protect the site’s text from being copied, then you should try and add a print button to the sites so that users will be able to print the information they want. Besides the print button, you can also add a PDF convert button to your webpages so that users can just convert the webpage to PDF form for later use or transfer to another device without internet access.
