The Windows 10 operating system just like other Microsoft Windows Operating System has so many hidden features. One of such features is the Task Manager which can be used to end a non responding program.
If you are using a program and suddenly it freezes and stops responding, there will be two options available to you. It is either you patiently wait for the program to start working again or you close the program completely. Waiting for the program to respond again can be time consuming but if what you are working on is very important, then you have no other option than to wait. If that is not the case and you are not working on something important, then you will need to just end the program. Here is where the Task Manager comes in because just clicking on the close button sometimes don’t end the non-responding program.
When stuck with a program on your Windows 10 Operating System which is not responding and refuses to end or close, just do the following;
- Open the Windows 10 Task Manager. The Task Manager can be opened by doing any of the following;
>> Right-click on the Start and click on Task Manager.
>> Open Start, do a search for Task Manager and click the result.
>> Use the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keyboard shortcut.
>> Use the Ctrl + Alt + Del keyboard shortcut and click on Task Manager.
>> Simultaneously press the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the power-user menu and click on Task Manager.
- When the Task Manager page opens, you should be able to see all the applications running including the one that is not responding which you want to close.
- Locate the application which you want to end from the list of running applications and right click on it.
- From the options that will come up when you must have right-clicked on the application you wish to end, select End Task.
With that done, the application will be automatically ended. Should you encounter any issue while trying to get this done, feel free to contact me via the comment option below.
