How to Ping a Blogger Blog’s Sitemap to Google, Bing, Baidu, Yandex and Ask

There are times when search engines might not index your blog properly even after submitting its sitemap. In such situation, it is advisable to constantly ping this search engines with your latest sitemap update in other to remind them to index your blog. Getting search engines to index your  Blogger blog can play a very important role in bringing in more organic traffic to the blog which is why I am going to show you guys how to ping your blog’s sitemap to the major search engines available on net in other to get your blog’s contents indexed properly and on time. So here is the popular search engines available today and how to ping your blog’s sitemap to them.

Ping Blogger Blog’s Sitemap to Google:

Google as a giant when it comes to search engines having been around since 1998 should be your first choice when considering submitting your blog’s sitemap to search engines. Now if you have followed the steps as I have specified on Submitting a Blogger Blog and Sitemap to Google Webmaster and it worked, then you need not ping your Blogger blog’s sitemap to Google anymore. But if you haven’t gone through that process or have done so but it was not successful, then just do the following;

  • Copy the below line of URL and paste into your browser’s address
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
  • Replace YOUR-WEBSITE-URL in the above with the URL of your blog i.e. something like www.educativehelper.com.

Remember that the atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500 is for blogs having posts between 1 to 500. For blog’s with more than 500 to 2000 posts, use any of the following

For blogs having less than 500 posts

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

For blogs having between 501 and 1001 posts

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=501&max-results=500

For blogs having between 1001 and 1500 posts

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1001&max-results=500

For blogs having between 1501 and 2000 posts

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1501&max-results=500

Now once you have done the changes as applicable to your blog posts, hit Enter or click on the Go button on your browser address bar and allow the page to load. Once the page is done loading, you will get a message that your Sitemap has been successfully added to the Google list of Sitemaps to crawl.

Ping Blogger Blog’s Sitemap to Bing:

I think and believe that Bing is the second biggest search engine on the internet after Google. Having integrated the Yahoo search system into it, I believe it is another best option to consider when submitting your blog’s sitemap for indexing. But since we are discussing about pinging our blog’s sitemap to Bing, I won’t be showing you how to submit your blog URL and Sitemap to Bing which you can check out by going to the post How to Submit a Blog’s URL And Sitemap to Bing. Below is how to ping your Blogger blog’s Sitemap to Bing;

  • Copy the below line of URL and paste into your browser’s address bar
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=
  • Now add your Blogger blog’s sitemap link after the = sign. When you have added it, the new URL should look like the one shown below
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://YOUR-BLOG-URL/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
  • All you need to do to the above is replace YOUR-BLOG-URL with your blog’s URL i.e. something like www.educativehelper.com. For example
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://www.educativehelper.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Remember that the atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500 as I have said above, is for blogs having posts between 1 to 500. For blog’s with more than 500 to 2000 posts, use any of the following as I have shown above under Submit/Ping Blogger Blog’s Sitemap to Google.

When done making the necessary changes as applicable to your Blog, hit Enter on your computer or just click on the Go button to ping the sitemap to Bing. You should get a confirmatory message which says “Thanks for submitting your Sitemap”.

Ping Blog’s Sitemap to Baidu:

Baidu is a Chinese search engine which literally means ‘hundreds of times’. It is among the biggest search engines on the web today providing an index of over 740 million web pages, 80 million images, and 10 million multimedia files. This is definitely among the many search engines you need to submit your blog sitemap for indexing. To ping your blog’s sitemap to Baidu, you will need to do the following;

Visit the Baidu’s ping page.

Once there, copy the URL below and paste into the box provided on the ping page.

http://YOUR-BLOG-URL/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
  • Replace YOUR-BLOG-URL with your blog’s URL i.e. something like www.educativehelper.com. For example
http://www.educativehelper.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
  • Once the sitemap URL has been added in the box provided, hit Enter on your computer keyboard or just click on the Chinese button below the box to input your sitemap link.

Ping blog sitemap to Baidu

Ping Blog’s Sitemap to Yandex:

This is a Russian search engine which as of today 26th, January 2020, ranked globally by Alexa as the 518 most visited website in the world. If you are thinking of getting a global traffic, then you should be reasoning submitting your blog sitemap to Yandex for indexing.

  • To ping your Blogger blog’s sitemap to Yandex, copy the link below
http://blogs.yandex.ru/pings/?status=success&url=
  • Now add your Blogger blog’s sitemap link after the = sign. The new link should look like the one below
http://blogs.yandex.ru/pings/?status=success&url=http://YOUR-BLOG-URL/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
  • Replace YOUR-BLOG-URL with your Blogger blog’s URL.

As I have said above, if you have more than 500 posts in your blog, you will have to change the 1 in start-index=1 to correspond to the number of post section which Blogger sitemap have been divided to. I have explained this above in Ping Blogger Blog’s Sitemap to Google. Just careful read through that guide to understand it.

  • Finally hit on the Enter key on your keyboard or click on the Go button on the browser.

Submit/Ping Blog’s Sitemap to Ask:

Also called Ask Jeeves, this search engine which was originally founded in 1996 is ranked as of today 24th, June 2014 by Alexa as the 186 most viewed website globally and 240 in the United States. So I don’t think it is wise to ignore this search engine when it comes to submitting your blog for indexing.

As of the time of this post, Ask.com no longer allows you to submit sitemaps. Reference your sitemap location from your robots.txt so that Ask.com can index your content.

That is just how to ping Blogger blog’s sitemap to top search engines like Google, Bing, Baidu. Yandex and Ask.
